Abstract:

Idiopathic epiretinal membrane (IERM) is a common age-related disease. In addition to vision loss, metamorphopsia is another major clinical symptom affecting visual quality in patients with IERM. With the evaluation of metamorphopsia tools improvement, more and more articles are devoted to the study of the factors that affect the metamorphopsia severity of IERM objects. So far most scholars have argued that the thickness of inner nuclear layer,   the tangential shift of the retina, retinal vascular imprinting, and the extent of retina contraction affected the severity of visual distortion in patients with macular degeneration.
