The progress of congenital excavated optic disc anomalies

Abstract:

Excavated optic disc anomalies  are leading a group of diseases in children with low vision or blindness, seriously affect the visual development and physical and mental health of children. They are easily misdiagnosed in clinical, belonging to congenital optic disc anomalies. At present, the pathogenesis and treatment of excavated optic disc anomaly are still unclear. But the characteristic and the code of conduct in the treatment process of it are gradually clear in the  recent studies. The latest progress of the morning glory syndrome, papillary coloboma, peripapillary staphyloma, megalopapilla and optic pit are discussed. (Int Rev Ophthalmol,  2017,  41:   171-174)
