Application of peripheral blood inflammatory markers in diabetic retinopathy

摘要: 糖尿病视网膜病变(diabetic retinopathy,DR)是糖尿病患者常见的微血管并发症之一。炎症与DR的发生发展密切相关。中性粒细胞与淋巴细胞比值、血小板与淋巴细胞比值、单核细胞与淋巴细胞比值及全身免疫炎症指数等外周血炎性指标与糖尿病及DR相关。上述指标均来源于血常规,经济实用、方便快捷,具有良好的应用前景。但因受全身情况、药物使用情况等因素的影响,目前未能广泛应用于临床。加强对上述指标的监测有助于临床上预测DR的发生风险及预后。(国际眼科纵览,2023, 47:345-349)

Abstract: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the common microvascular complications of diabetes. Previous studies have highlighted the association of chronic inflammation and DR. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) have been proven to be potential inflammatory markers in diabetes mellitus and DR. All the makers above are derived from blood routine test, which is economical, practical, convenient and quick, and have a good application prospect. However, due to the influence of systemic conditions, drug use and other factors, it is currently not widely used in the clinic. Strengthening the monitoring of these makers is helpful for the diagnosis and prognosis of DR. (Int Rev Ophthalmol, 2023, 47: 345-349)
