The influence of COVID-19 on clinical work of ophthalmology and its solution

Abstract: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a newly emerging infectious disease of class B. Because of the sudden outbreak and the unfamiliar characteristics of the new disease, there is a risk of cross infection in close contact with patients during the procedure of ophthalmology diagnosis and treatment. Ophthalmic medical staffs are faced with a lot of confusion in the work. This article introduces the influence of COVID-19 on the hospital and patients, management of the outpatients and inpatients of ophthalmic department and the protective measures and clinical work protocols for ophthalmic medical staff, hoping to reduce the possibility of cross infection in the ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment work.
