Abstract: Dry eye disease (DED) is the most common ocular surface disease. Chronic ocular surface pain, irritation, and visual fatigue can affect the life quality of DED patients. All of these symptoms sometimes make DED patients lose their confidence for treatment and enthusiasm for working and life. Epidemiological studies have shown that DED was significantly associated with the anxiety and depression. Active treatment is beneficial for patients' depression, and positive emotion can reduce patients’ symptoms. Therefore, it is necessary to remind ophthalmologists to pay attention to the types, mechanisms and prevention of psychological disorders related to DED.
